Frédéric Janssoone 1838-1916

Born in Ghyvelde, in the north of France in 1838, Father Frederic was a remarkable missionary to the Holy Land before coming to Trois-Rivieres, Canada. Witness to the “Miracle of the eyes” (Virgin Mary opened her eyes) and co-founder of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Cape, he traveled preaching in the parishes of Quebec to make known Jesus of Nazareth and the Holy Land.

He was declared blessed in 1988. Now the Canadian Church prepares for his canonization.
